Airsoft Warrior 2016 Resolutions | AirsoftWarrior.net

After 2 years of writing on AirsoftWarrior.net, producing videos for the Airsoft Warrior YouTube Channel, and coming up with new ideas to grow the airsoft community and help airsofters, I’m happy to say that Airsoft Warrior still has some new and exciting things to offer airsofters as we go into 2016!  Here are some of the new and enhanced offerings I hope to bring to you guys in Airsoft Warrior’s 3rd year!

A More Interactive Experience

What makes Airsoft Warrior grow and be able to provide better content is the community (aka airsofters like you!).  In 2016, expect to see more questions being asked in the posts, comments, and social media for you guys to provide impute on.  I’m always happy to hear new ideas for posts, social media, and videos.  Let me know what upcoming events are happening in your local community so I can share them for other airsofters to see!  Also, be sure to share your thoughts on airsoft news items or other airsoft websites!  When you interact, you make this blog and airsoft better!

Help Create a New View of Airsoft

Airsoft has done so much for me.  I’ve made new friends, gained new skills, and enjoyed the experiences I wouldn’t have had with any other sport.  But even with all the good qualities of airsoft, it’s coming under its heaviest attack yet.  Almost everyday we hear about new criminal incidents involving airsoft, putting our sport in a bad light and convincing legislators and citizens that airsoft is little more than a dangerous game that should be banned.  I hope to use the Airsoft Warrior resources in 2016 and beyond, to provide an encouraging and strong platform for airsofters to share the real story of airsoft.  With your help, we can change the way airsoft is perceived by the general populace!

More Airsoft Warrior Media

And last, but not least, get ready for more videos coming to the YouTube channel!  Better and more frequent Tac Shack, reviews, gameplay, and other airsoft related videos are planned to be released in 2016!  If the community shows interest, live chats with TAW and more “podcast like” videos may be considered and created!  Just let me know what type of media would be the most helpful to you so I can make it a reality!

We had a great year in 2015 (we doubled AirsoftWarrior.net page views over 2014 for starters!).  Let’s make 2016 twice as awesome!

See you on the field,

– TAW

Airsoft Tulsa: Montage of BOSS!

Airsoft Tulsa: Montage of BOSS! | AirsoftWarrior.net

Here’s a quick montage video for you guys from my first visit to Airsoft Tulsa in 2016!  I had a great time getting out on the field with a bunch of great players!  Be sure to let me know what you think of the video in the comments!

And, because even a montage video can include some tactics 😉 ……

Numbers Change The Field:

The increased number of players (40) change the way the battlefield could be navigated and how positions could be used.  It also causes “traffic jams” to occur in-game.  There were several times I had to stop for a second and think about where I could best support my team.  Taking the time to spread out from the rest of your teammates during a game so you have more shooting opportunities while providing your team with a stronger front.

Rush Things Along:

The first clip is from a “Conquest” round where our team rushed to the flag and secured it before the enemy team had a chance to react.  You’ll notice that several of my team members were moving up at the same time to give a better chance of securing the flag (which consequently resulted in me running into one of them! 🙂 ).  This constant “wave” of operators, combined with a powerful rush of players early in the game, is a great tactic for securing a flag and allows your team to defend for the remainder of the game (which can be a lot easier than attacking most of the time).

Get Some “Moving” Cover:

In one of the clips, I communicate with my teammate to have him provide covering fire while I rushed the flag.  Try to get some covering fire whenever you move from one position to another at the front lines.  Also, listen to your teammates and wait till they’re ready before you move.  Often times, they have a better idea of what you’re going into.  It doesn’t help to rush things along just to get lit up the minute you step out of cover!

Tac Shack: TAW’s Tan Head Loadout

Tac Shack: TAW's Tan Head Loadout | AirsoftWarrior.net

(affiliate links included)

In this Tac Shack video, I’ll show you guys how I set up my tan head loadout for games.  This is a great set up that finds a nice balance between comfort and function.  Hopefully this video gives you some ideas for your own head loadout!

Gear Used for Tan Head Loadout:

(Note: All prices are approximate and subject to change.)

Condor Multi Wrap (Tan)– $9
Comfortable, light, moisture wicking, and still protects you from BBs going down your ear canal!  What more could you ask for $9!

Gen 1 Striker Lower Metal Mesh Mask– $10
Great mesh mask for airsofters that like to be able to aim down their sights!  Easy to modify to fit a variaty of googles and full seal shooting glasses.  For a modification tutorial, go HERE.

Lancer Tactical Deluxe Ventalation Goggles (with 3 lens set)– $18
Great googles for the money.  The three lenses make it easy to adapt the googles to work well in almost any environment or weather conditions.  They do have a tendency to fog, so be sure to get a Cyclone Mike!

Bungee Modification- FREE!
This has been one of the best modifications I’ve made to my head loadout! Easy to get on and off at a game and also increases the comfort of the head loadout!

Metal NVG Mount (for mounting my SJ4000 action camera)- $20
An NVG mount is the easiest way I’ve found to mount and stabilize an action camera for filming airsoft games.  Nothings worse than super shaking and bouncy airsoft footage, so be sure to get one if you can use it with your helmet!

Cyclone Mike (from ActionFans)– $40
One of the best defogging systems on the market in my opinion.  Long battery life, easy to set up, and very user friendly! You can see my full review of the Cyclone Mike, HERE.

6400 mAh Easy Acc Battery Pack– $13
Super cheap way to fuel your action camera for HOURS at a game!  Fits nice on a helmet and has LED indicator lights for checking the battery level on the fly!

Lancer Tactical PJ F.A.S.T. Helmet (Navy Seal Tan)– $65
This helmet may seem a bit overpriced when compared to the $35, basic helmets from Lancer Tactical, but this helmet really is a step up in comfort and functionality when you’re on the field.  The adjustment band and padding on the inside make it easy to fit to your head and will accommodate even a monster noggin! 🙂

Let me know what gear you use for your head loadout in the comments!
