Airsoft Warrior Resolutions 2017 | AirsoftWarrior.net

Here we are. 2017 has arrived and it’s time to start thinking about how we can make this the best year yet. Many of you probably have made some resolutions to improve yourself in the new year. For airsofters, that includes going to more games, training more often, and finding ways to introduce new airsofters to the sport. How will AirsoftWarrior.net become a better airsoft blog in 2017?  I have jotted down some of my thoughts below, but I would love to hear your thoughts on making the blog better in the comments!

Get To More Games

2016 was a bit of a down year in the number of games I was able to attend.  Of course, I love to get out to games, meet new people, and swap BBs with some of the coolest players around.  This new year, I’ll be making the extra effort to get to games and attend more local fields. Keep up with the Airsoft Warrior Facebook page for announcements when I am heading to a field so I can hang out with some of you!

Try out an Airsoft Warrior Live Stream!

I have been tossing around the idea of making a live stream for a long time.  They are a great way to interact with all of you in real time. I think it will be an excellent way to get you the unique tips you need. I am working on putting together one in the near future; and I’ll be posting more info on the live stream as I iron out the details. If you have any questions that you would like to have answered live by me and any guests I have on the stream, be sure to post them in the comments here so I can start putting together a list!

Grow The Airsoft Warrior Facebook Community

As many of you guys know, I have an Airsoft Warrior Facebook page.  There has been some amazing growth on the page over the past year, and I would like to start supporting that platform in new and interesting ways. Some ideas for what may be seen on the Facebook page in 2017 include Facebook exclusive material (short posts or tips that are only found on the Airsoft Warrior page), live streams, and more posts on news from around the airsoft world!

As always, I will continue to post my highest quality content on the blog and will be answering comments and questions you guys have right here on AirsoftWarrior.net.  I hope that with these resolutions, I’ll be able to give you all better, faster, and more current airsoft advice and news that is more personalized to you!

If you have any ideas to improve these resolutions, be sure to let me know in the comments!  I hope you all have a great 2017!

State of the Warrior 2017

State of the Warrior 2017 | AirsoftWarrior.net

AirsoftWarrior.net is now 3 YEARS old!!! That is an amazing accomplishment that I can only attribute to the support and interactions I have had with all of you guys over these past years.  It has been an amazing journey, and will continue to get even better, as we start this 4th year of posts on AirsoftWarrior.net! To kick off this year’s “State of the Warrior”, where I present an overview of how the blog has thrived in the past year, I will show you some stats that will give you an idea of how the blog has been reaching the airsoft community in 2016:

In 2016:

Numbers of readers totaled 10,274.

Pageviews climbed to 18,544.

The most popular post on AirsoftWarrior.net was Airsoft CQB: Basic Tactics for Buildings.

AirsoftWarrior.net continued to expand in the realm of social media as well, with the Facebook page climbing to over 300 followers. This is an incredible honor that you all have given me in supporting the other platforms I use to share airsoft tips and news on! The YouTube page currently has 77 subscribers and I hope you will join me on there as I release more gameplay footage, airsoft tips, and reviews in 2017.

I want to especially thank everyone that has kept up with the blog through this past year, and continue to provide the valuable support this blog needs to release better content to the airsoft community.  It has been a rough year for me personally, with a variety of things happening in my life, and it has frankly created some gaps in my posting and in the number of airsoft games I have been able to be involved in.  I am already planning to attend some more events this year, and will continue to post on the blog as frequently as possible.  Since I strive to provide quality content, and not just quantity, it does take longer to produce a post than it might otherwise.  I hope that you all are enjoying the content; and as always, any ideas you have for future posts would be greatly appreciated.  Simply post them in the comments, and provide some specific things you would like to see addressed!

In this new year on AirsoftWarrior.net, expect to see more content to make you a better airsofter and ways to help you make the community a better place for every airsoft warrior!

Here’s to a great 2017!

NEW GUN ARRIVAL! – ICS CXP16S

New Gun Arrival: ICS CXP16S | AirsoftWarrior.net

I would like to announce that my new ICS CXP16S has arrived!  I will be thoroughly testing it in the next couple of months and then write up a review for you guys.  Here are a few things about the CXP16S to get you guys excited for the upcoming review!

  • Uses the ICS Split Gearbox for fast FPS changes and repairs
  • Has a one piece RIS with a monolithic top rail (looks like a H&K 416 RIS)
  • Rear wired to the crane stock (uses screws to hold the stock plate on for added durability)
  • Rotary style hop up for easier and more consistent hop up adjustment
  • Flip up front and rear sights (MBUS style)

Overall,  I think this is going to be a great weapon on the field and at the work bench.  I’m really looking forward to showing you all what it can do!

101st Post On AirsoftWarrior.net!!!

101st Post On AirsoftWarrior.net | AirsoftWarrior.net

I almost can’t believe that over 100 posts have been written on AirsoftWarrior.net!  With your support, I look forward to the next hundred (or next 10,000.  Who knows!)

For this 101st post on AirsoftWarrior.net, I wanted to give you guys a look into how posts are written for the blog so you have an idea of what it takes to make a good post.

The Very Beginning

Sometimes an idea for a post will come from seeing a new gear item or an upcoming event.  Other times I’ll find an old post on an airsoft forum and use that to start a new post here on the blog.  Most of the time though, I find my inspiration from a conversation with a fellow airsofter (often by a comment on the blog, Facebook, Google Plus page, or an Airsoft Warrior TV video).  But no matter how I get the idea for a post, I always research the topic I want to write about.

Research Phase

For research, I use my own experience, airsoft websites, forums, YouTube, and discussions with other airsofters, as well as military personnel, to form the basis for the post and provide you with the best info I can.

A few good resources I use include Popular Airsoft, MilSim Tactical Training Podcast, military field manuals, and YouTube channels like TheAirsoftTech and ASTKilo23.

Let’s Get Going!

After the research phase, I start the post.  Every post goes through lots of editing and drafts before it reaches its final stage.  I provide as many helpful links to gear, posts, and websites as I can to give you extra resources to find more information and learn more.

Photos for my posts are mostly taken by Megan from diversereflections.com.  She does an excellent job of giving every photo that unique look that only high quality pictures can achieve.  If I need a different look for a photo, I then edit it with an editing program like PicMonkey.com.  I currently create the slide show graphics for the homepage using PicMonkey.

Show It To The World

Once the post is completed, I prepare it for publishing and add the last minute technical stuff so you can find it on the site without a bunch of hassle.

Once the post is published, my email service (currently Mail Chimp) sends it to my loyal (and awesome!) subscribers the next day.  I then start the process all over again for the next post!

How You Can Be Involved!

The most important thing that influences my future posts is readers like you.  You inspire me and drive the blog forward.  One of the best things you can do to help AirsoftWarrior.net is to comment and let me know what you think of the post and give me ideas for new ones!  Asking questions allows other readers to glean information and learn new things at the same time you are.  Sharing the content from the blog helps others to learn about airsoft, and grows the community (and who doesn’t like more players to sling BBs with!).

Thanks again for all of your support in the past 100 posts.  Keep the questions and thoughts coming.  Be sure to let everyone know what you’re doing to grow the airsoft community in the comments below!

Airsoft Warrior Update- 4-22-15

Airsoft Warrior Update | AirsoftWarrior.net

Hello Warriors,

I hope you are all enjoying the posts here on AirsoftWarrior.net.  I want to give you all an update on some of the behind the scenes projects that are going on right now.

Airsoft Warrior Product:

I know some of you are anxiously awaiting the release of the new product.  We are working hard to get it released soon.  Keep your eyes peeled and be sure to subscribe to keep up to date on the release!

Upcoming Battle Videos:

I recently visited Tulsa Indoor Airsoft again and got some great footage of my gameplay there.  I’ve got to tell you that knowing your terrain and also knowing a fair amount of the people playing can make for a great game.  I had a ton of fun, made a lot of kills, used some tactics, and can’t wait to show it all to you in an upcoming series of videos!

MilSim?:

I am currently trying to get things together for a MilSim (Military Simulation) Operation this year.  MilSim is not your average airsoft game.  You spend all day (and often times, half the night) battling it out with some of the most tactical and well equipped airsofters around.  This makes for intense and highly competitive game play.  Lord willing, I will attend one of these events this year and have some great video footage and tactics for you all!  Let me know in the comments if you have any thoughts, tips, or event suggestions for MilSim this year!

Call Sign:

In case you haven’t noticed, I have updated my call sign from “Knuckles” to “TAW” (pronounced tah).  This is now the official call sign of The Airsoft Warrior.  I change it to fit The Airsoft Warrior (note the acronym) a bit better.  If you see me on the field, make sure to give “TAW” a shout out!

I hope this update gives you guys an idea of what The Airsoft Warrior is up to.  I look forward to sharing these new airsoft adventures with you as the year progresses.  As always, do your part to help the airsoft community on and off the field, and thank you for reading AirsoftWarrior.net!

Airsoft Under Attack: SB213!

Share

Airsoft Under Attack: SB 213 Header | AirsoftWarrior.net

One of the biggest reasons people play airsoft is to use weaponry that looks like it came straight out of a movie or the battlefield.  Guns like the M60, a full auto M4, or a MP5 are just some of the examples of weapons that most of us can’t use or afford in our daily lives but can in airsoft.  But would you think airsoft guns were cool if you favorite weapon platform only came in a totally bright purple or yellow color?

The U.S. Senate is proposing a bill (SB213) to make all airsoft guns illegal unless the whole gun has a bright, neon paint color!  This is one of the biggest threats that the airsoft nation has ever faced.  Apparently this bill is designed as a step up from the recent anti-airsoft bill in California (SB119).  This new bill will affect the entire United States and all airsofters in it!  Sign THIS petition to help stop this threat to airsofting in U.S!

You can also contact Senator Barbara Boxer (CA) as well as your current federal Senator(s) and voice your thoughts on this bill.  Please remember to be respectful and thoughtful.  We don’t need to make airsofters look bad to get our point across.

Also be sure to mention an alternate solution to the issue caused by people using airsoft guns irresponsibly.  I suggested to my Senator that proper education on airsoft gun usage will allow players to be more safe on the field and with real firearms.

As a final thought, please be safe with your airsoft gun at all times.  Use a gun bag and barrel plug.  Never brandish your airsoft gun in public no matter how cool it is.  Play Safe, Play Hard, and Help Stop SB 213!
